Welcome to Robust Imperfection. My name is Eric Roberts. I am a musician, occasional artist, and wannabe writer with a fascination for exploring how creativity weaves through every aspect of our lives.
There is no cosmic importance to your getting something published, but there is in learning to be a giver.

For far too long I’ve kept my thoughts to myself. The fear associated with putting my imperfect, unfinished ideas out in the world has resulted in persistent resistance that has worn out its welcome. I realized that ideas don’t grow as much if you keep them to yourself. They don’t blossom as much as they do if they are allowed to grow freely within a supportive community. And I want to eliminate that resistance.
I want this space to be a playground where I can figure out what I have to say. I want to put my ideas and art into the world. I plan to share ideas I’m thinking about, original artwork, and musical ideas weekly. I want to see them sink or swim on their own merit. But most importantly, I want to learn and get better at my craft with you.
Good! You began your journey here. Somewhere I picked up the 70% rule and have found it helps to apply it to most things in life. Especially if you're a perfectionist. Publish when you're around 70% happy with the product.
Good on you for stepping out. You have so much incredible creative energy bottled up inside. I can’t wait to walk with you on this journey and see where it leads.
